Choosing Your Wedding Venue

Choosing Your Wedding Venue

Maybe you’ve recently got engaged and that exciting time has come for you to start looking at your options.

Where is your dream wedding venue?

Do you really know what you’re looking for?

Before you go rushing off arrange viewings and to look around every single venue, here are some tips to think about, when you’re choosing a wedding venue:

Communication
Ensure you communicate with your other half about the style of wedding you would both like, be prepared to compromise, you are bound to have different ideas about some things. Remember your wedding is meant to be the happiest day of your lives. What time of the year are you planning to tie the knot, maybe you want a summer wedding in acres of garden, with scenic views, or maybe the winter scene is more your style.

Decide on a budget
Working out a budget early on will help you to shortlist the potential wedding venues. Wedding catering and alcohol normally take up quite a chunk of your budget, so remember to include it in your calculations.

What’s best for guests?
Think of guests who will be travelling for your wedding. To avoid them incurring expensive taxi charges and hotel bills, you may like to look for a wedding venue in a central location to where most of your guests live.

Wedding guest numbers
Have in mind a rough idea of the number of guests you want to invite. This needs to be worked out and agreed together before you start looking for a wedding venue – or be prepared to alter your guest list.
