Larmer Tree Gardens – Victorian Jubilee Hall
Tollard Royal, Salisbury, Wiltshire, SP5 5PY
Show starts 7.30pm
Following last year’s sold-out show, we are delighted to welcome back Nunkie Theatre Company with two more classic ghost stories.
This critically acclaimed one-man show is an atmospheric retelling of two of the earliest and greatest tales by M. R. James, the master of the English ghost story. Performed in the magical setting of the Victorian Jubilee Hall at Larmer Tree Gardens.
Every Christmas, Montague Rhodes James, an eminent medieval scholar, would write and perform new tales to entertain friends in his rooms in King’s College, Cambridge. A century later, the stories by M. R. James thrill, terrify and amuse as powerfully today as they ever did. Robert Lloyd Parry recreates James’s entertainments in a truly atmospheric way, illuminated by candlelight and underscored by dread.
